Founded in 1988 as Quality Assured Plastics Ltd (QAP), the Company quickly found a specialist niche in manufacturing overmoulded plastic filters.  Those first filter mouldings included tumble drier and domestic plumbing filters for customers that we still supply today.

In 1994, we achieved accreditation to ISO9001, giving official recognition to our ‘Quality Assured’ name.  Then, as our technical expertise in overmoulded filters grew, so did our reputation, bringing more and more filter customers to our doors.  

In 1997, the company was re-named Global Filters Limited to reflect this new focus on filters and our international reach.

With the change of name came further expansion in filter manufacturing, particularly in the domestic appliance and industrial markets, and relocation to new larger premises in Verwood, near England’s south coast, where we are still based.

The company was acquired by new private investors in 2014, who still own and operate the business today.  They brought a renewed focus on developing its capabilities to deliver long-term, sustainable growth, founded on superior technical expertise, cost-effective production technologies and the highest standards of customer service. 

A programme of investment in our people and equipment brought new levels of skill and experience to our operations, tooling project management and technical capabilities, together with a fleet of new, modern injection moulding equipment and a 20% expansion in our factory space.    And we built on our ‘Quality Assured’ foundations by adopting automotive quality practices across the company.

Recent years have seen the business grow with new filter customers, particularly in export markets.  Our existing filter customers have chosen to place more and more of their non-filter moulding work with us too, recognising our end-to-end service, deep technical expertise, high standards, ethical business practices and competitive prices.  

Today, while overmoulded filters remain at the very heart of what we do, we are full service injection moulding business with functional and aesthetic non-filter mouldings and assemblies now comprising around 1/2 our business. 

We produce 10’s of millions of filters and other mouldings every year, for our customers across Europe, North and Central America, and Asia, and are primed for further growth.
